The classes increased my self-love and positivity while decreasing my fear and negativity. The visualizations focused on increasing our energy levels. These classes gave me the helping hand I needed; gave me the energy I needed to get to a new level of being where I could begin to help myself; where I could meditate better, think more positively, be more calm. Sometimes we just need a helping hand from the outside to get us to this new level; to get past some of our karma. I would recommend these classes to everyone. They would be one of the nicest gifts you could give yourself; a gift of love.”

What Students Say

The programme was for 8 weeks and when I arrived we hit the ground running. We worked on a promo video for a client, and filmed two documentaries while I was there. We started by planning the projects and working on scripts and storyboards, and we progressed to filming quickly. I had the opportunity to use high quality industry equipment and by the end of the programme I felt really comfortable with all of it. During my stay in Italy I also had time to write and explore the city for inspiration as well. At the end of the internship I felt more confident in my technical abilities and in myself. I think this experience will be invaluable to the progression of my career. Thank you Elizabeth, you have been an inspiration!

I chose the FIFS Intensive 4 week program in Florence because it promised to be a hands-on course, in Florence, Italy the best place in the world to get an inspiration and to increase you creative abilities.

The idea of the course is to create your own short film going through all the stages - idea, script, storyboard, casting, location scouting, planning, scheduling, shooting, finding the music, draft editing, dubbing and final editing.

During the course I was able to get all the help I needed from my mentor. For example, I am not experienced in directing and editing, so we spent time studying all this. The program is very flexible. You're constantly in touch with your mentor and you can taylor the program to your own needs.
Finally I completed the film, that was my own work and for me it is first step to developing confidence in my creative abilities because it helps me very much by producing my work.

Supermarkets are a peculiar place. Here, managers attract customers through a wide range of predevised, tried and tested methodologies. These include; product placement, brash advertisement and slashing prices. A new term is entering the marketing vocabulary. A term that places the emphasis back on the product. Slowly it is becoming a brand in itself, yet it merely represents the process through which the item bearing it's name came into existence. Organic.

When, in October 2006, I shopped around for a film school I very much had my eye on the organic label. The New Renaissance Florence Film School became the obvious choice for me. I was lured by the idea of creating something new and positive through an intuitive process. Through guided interaction with the inspiring artworks of the renaissance, yoga and other meditative exercises, the creator within me was magically awoken. This, coupled with the supportive environment created by both students and staff, I was able to confront my inmost fears and desires and create a vision that surpassed my wildest imagination. I discovered my undiscovered self.

Film schools are a peculiar place. What fills them is forever shaped by the spirit of those that open and those that enter it's doors. In an industry that is concentrating its efforts primarily on consumer and marketing opportunities it is comforting to know that there still remains a section, a solace in the midst of countless aisles filled with an ever increasing amount of "E's", one that places its focus on the personal, the human, the organic development of creativity.

At the New Renaissance Florence Film School I had the opportunity to work through the the creative process of all aspects of film. I found new strengths of my own and got to interact with some very inspiring people.

I learned how to put my story into visual imagery and learned a lot about myself as an artist: to risk more and trust myself more. I never knew I could get so much out of an intensive program!
